We are invited to a 5 year old's birthday party, and the theme is Transformers. Apparently he is all about Transformers these days.
I don't know a thing about them. I imagine I will probably go to TRU or Target and look through the Transformers stuff but I'm worried I'm going to get him something he already has (or something that he will be getting from others since that's the theme of the party).
Any ideas? Or does your child have something Transformers that he loves?

I ran into this problem a few times this year. Both my friends little boys' are obsessed with everything transformers! I just bought a cool looking transformer but saved the receipt just in case it was one they already had.
1I know nothing about Transformers, but I had to go to a "Disney Princess" themed party a few weeks ago and ended up getting her a few books about princesses and how to act liek a princess Maybe they have some similiar boy type options with the transformers.
2Actually my son is kind of into them right now- he's almost 6. I just bought him transformer sheet set from an online store, but they had bedding at Target. Target has some neat toys but you may be able to find a lunch box, puzzle, or board game that is a bit more unique. Go to Target and get a gift receipt- that will be the best place to exchange things IMHO. You may even be able to find a Transformer animated movie there, too. Can you tell I go through this a lot and need to be creative
3Or if you can't find anything that you want to get that is "Transformers" maybe try the latest DVD that is out. I know that "Bee Movie" came out around Easter time. I don't know if anything else has come out after that one or not. I got it for my 4 year old son and it had been hours and hours of entertainment.
4my husband is actually the one thats into tranformers in our house. Guess that prime guy is really cool. A sure bet is to give the kid a toys r us gift card so he can pick out the exact tranformer he wants, because chances are he has all the cool ones he really likes already! Wait, he is only 5, maybe he doesn't even know the difference yet? In that case you could probably get him anything w/ transformers, even a bath towel or something?
5Yeah, I think I'll hit the stores and just see what's out. I just sort of remember Transformers from when I was a kid, wasn't that the one with Optimus Prime or something like that? Isn't it funny, the toys that we had as kids are coming back: Scooby Do, Transformers, My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, etc.
