Its the time of year again where I need to make my yearly purchase of Avon's Skin So Soft Bug Guard. This stuff is awesome. They have about 4 or 5 different kinds now (lotion, pump spray, aerosol spray,) I used to get the dissapearing blue lotion that also has waterproof SPF 30, but my boys are very light skinned and I would sometimes miss a few spots and see blue spots on them. Also it does get on their clothes if I put it on in a hurry. This time I'm ordering the Bug Guard in the regular white lotion, plus I think I'll get the pump spray that has picaridin for the late afternoon when I'm not worried about having SPF but when the bugs are out in full force. I believe they are on sale right now for 2 for 12. A definate summer must have for kids!

Thanks. I'll probably get some for myself too!
1sounds like just as good a deal as I usually get on the spray-on sunblock I love!
2of course, I like the aresol better than the pump (no CFC's!) it's just easier to quick spray them down before they run off...Lol!
must try this- I always get special promotions from them. thanks
3Do you know what age you can start putting sun screen on a baby?
4karma, I found this:
Sunscreen is not recommended for babies under the age of six months. “After six months we recommend a physical sunscreen, such as zinc oxide, as opposed to a chemical one,” says Blaichman. “And it’s a good idea to try it out on a small area first to make sure that the baby does not have a reaction.” Your infant’s skin is ultra sensitive, so keeping her out of the harmful rays of the sun is the best way to protect her. When outdoors, make sure your babe is wearing a hat and kept in a shaded area. You might also consider dressing her in UV-protective clothing.
Also my pediatrician says nothing with PABA in the sunscreen, and no DEET in the bugspray. I blogged about a really good sunhat that has SPF 50 and even protects the neck, you can read about it or else check out sundayafternoons.com, they have baby and infant sizes
5Does anyone have coupon codes for Avon?
6There was a promotion over the weekend, but I don't have anything currently. Have yo ever tried, www.retailmenot.com I have found THE BEST coupon codes there- worth a look for any of your fav stores

Early morning commenting
That's good to know about the sunscreen though.. I was wondering about bug spray because I've seen mosquito's land on Jonah and it makes me nervous.
8Bun spray
Good Lord I am in serious need of sleep
BUG SPRAY!!!
9
bun spray. Well, buns have to be protected, too
10just got this in an email today:
11Free shipping on orders of $15 until 7/3/08 with code AVNFS15
Bun spray!
12Seriously, I don't know. Maybe 6 months? I think that's when I started using this stuff on my boys.
This is great for kids! I need something like this for my dogs. Bugs are very bad right now and sunscreen would be very helpful for my dog who is "almost" bald
He just loves to lay in the sun!
13Below see the email my aunt sent me about using Listerine as a bug deterrent.
I haven't tried it yet so I can't personally attest to it.
Email:
I was at a deck party awhile back, and the bugs were having a ball biting everyone. A man at the party sprayed the lawn and deck floor with Listerine, and the little demons disappeared. The next year I filled a 4-ounce spray bottle and used it around my seat whenever I saw mosquitoes. And voila! That worked as well. It worked at a picnic where we sprayed the area around the food table, the children's swing area, and the standing water nearby. During the summer, I don't leave home without it. Pass it on.
OUR FRIEND'S COMMENTS:
14I tried this on my deck and around all of my doors. It works - in fact, it killed them instantly. I bought my bottle from Target and it cost me $1.89. It really doesn't take much, and it is a big bottle, too; so it is not as expensive to use as the can of spray, and it doesn't last only 30 minutes. So, try this, please. It will last a couple of days before you need to re-spray. Don't spray directly on a wood door (like your front door), but spray around the frame. Spray around the window frames, and even inside the dog house.
Good tip about the listerine.. never knew
15wow- that's easy to do and economical. Wonder what the magic ingredient is
